Exacting Standards
In 2008 the Emizon Grade 4 service was tested and passed to LPS.1277 by the BRE/LPCB for compliance with the highest Grade 4 EN signalling standards. The LPS Standard was prepared by the LPCB with assistance from experts across a number of leading organisations including: the Association of British Insurers/Lloyd’s, Association of Chief Police Officers and Association of Specialist Fire Protection.
Rigorous, exacting, thorough, and held over a two month period, the LPS.1277 testing regime covered all aspects of Emizon 21 service performance including:
Testing over the LIVE network ,across multiple locations, rather than simulated in-house trials
Using off the shelf rather than pre-selected products
Satisfying all EN signalling criteria plus the insurance requirement for +99.5% system availability
European standards classify intruder alarm systems into four EN Grades, Grade 4 being the highest, based on the skills, tools and the determination likely to be used by criminals at each level of risk. The standards that cover the equipment and performance standards are covered under PD6662:2004 & tables 10 and 11 of prEN50131.
The specific alarm transmission performance against EN 50131-1 for each Grade of Emizon 21 is shown in the table below:
